Lighter Body, Finessed
Ripe Red Currant, Clove, Earth

“The perfect balance of fruit, earth, and a little bit of spice,” according to Wine Director Jodie Battles of Toro and Little Donkey. “[Fleurie] is what I think of as the most elegant of all the Crus, and Anne-Sophie really encompasses all of that.”

Violet in the glass, the nose immediately gives away the wine’s complexity, boasting brilliant currant fruit, black tea, moss, wild herbs, and elegant spice notes. The palate is fresh but deep, with fine tannin and a long, perfumed finish redolent of sandalwood and wet stone. The classic bistro pairing with roast chicken is appropriate here, or you might want to splurge on some soft cheeses and charcuterie, find the crunchiest baguette in town, and enjoyla belle vie.
