*DELIVERIES BEGIN JANUARY 11TH*

If you’re a long-time Upper Glass subscriber, you might not be surprised at this month’s booklet. But if this is your first box, first of all, welcome! Secondly, we want to share with you how strongly we feel about supporting our friends in the restaurant industry. Normally we take more space to editorialize, but this year, we feel that it is incredibly important to share stories from within the industry that illustrate how important your participation is to the survival of restaurants in Boston.

This month we hear from three past Upper Glass curators. Please, take their answers to heart and consider what steps you can take to help your own neighborhood spots. Let’s hope 2021 brings about change and the revival of an industry that has done so much and created so many memorable moments for us all. Cheers friends.

T H E   W I N E S

  • Terraprima, Penedès Blanc–  100% refreshing. Classic Riesling nose full of petrol followed by a punch of clean acidity. Thanks Xarel-lo.  Pair with anything from your local Thai restaurant, especially a spicy Green Papaya Salad.
  • Morgon, Côte du Py Vieilles Vignes – Grandma's strawberry candies coupled with bouncy acid that makes us smile. Beaujolais is for lovers. Perfect for Beef Stew or Roasted Beet Salad with plenty of Gorgonzola.
  • Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir 'A' Estate  – Like spilling soy sauce on a brand new saddle. Love the lingering, bitter finish here.  Pair with a locally sourced baguette smothered in Ricotta and drizzled with Aceto Balsamico.
  • Fuso, Colli Tortonesi Vino Rosso – Here's your everyday pizza wine people. A little raspberry, a little dirt. We love it. Any excuse for pizza! Pair this one with a Pepperoni pie from Charlie Gaeta's South End fave, Picco.

  • Château Robin- AOC Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux, France - Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon - Ripe, juicy plums, blackberries, and a little cedar. Like walking through the forest with a basket of berries. Pair with anything medium-rare, or just cozy up with a glass under a blanket. It's the perfect winter red.
