CURATED BY LIZ MANN
WINE DIRECTOR + ASST GM, SPOKE WINE BAR
DELIVERIES BEGIN SEPTEMBER 4TH
What remains to surprise us from a beverage that’s been in production for more than 8,000 years? This month, we turned to Spoke Wine Bar’s Wine Director, Liz Mann, to find out. From up-and-coming regions, to young maverick producers, to stunning examples of experimentation with the way wine can be made, Mann has selected a range of wines to showcase wine’s never-ending novelty.
“A lot of things have changed in wine recently,” Mann said. “The natural wine movement provides a lot of opportunities for people who have left previous careers to explore winemaking. There are people who inherited estates and are changing what the previous generations did. In selecting different inspirational people, we have a good collection from California, South Africa, Greece and Spain. Some of these producers are young, some are middle-aged—all are doing something unique.”
