The Beating Heart of Hospitality

CURATED BY CHARLIE GAETA
WINE DIRECTOR OF BIG HEART HOSPITALITY

*DELIVERIES BEGIN SEPTEMBER 7TH*

Once again, we are being asked to mask. We are more than willing, if not eager, to do our part. But are nonetheless comforted by the safety and protocols enacted by our favorite neighborhood restaurants like Tiger Mama and the rest of the Big Heart Hospitality restaurant group. We are also grateful for another opportunity to transport ourselves with four new bottles of wine that couldn’t be more different.

BHH Wine Director Charlie Gaeta has constructed a wine list for the thrill-seekers among you and the snapshot this month’s box provides is the perfect introduction. German Riesling (because, duh) and Pinot Noir, a unique Italian varietal that resembles Beaujolais more than anything we’ve tasted from Emilia-Romagna, and an Austrian Blaüfrankisch that will have you doing a double take.

So, enjoy the wine and think about ordering some Pad Gra Pow and Yu Shiang Eggplant. Be safe and stay healthy.

T H E   W I N E S

  • Elektrisch, Kabinett Riesling –  Light & flirtatious. Key Limes, Fresh Pineapples, Whipped Honey. If you want one wine to pair with everything at Tiger Mama, this is it! Pair with Tiger Mama's Bun Cha Hanoi or Crispy Pork Belly.
  • Lovely Lilly Pinot Noir  – Medium bodied & charming. Mushrooms, Dried Thyme, Cranberry. Dry, earthy Pinot full of fall foliage and sautéed mushrooms. Lilly is so friendly! Pair with Le Tigre House Fried Rice and Mala Mushrooms from Tiger Mama.
  • Savignone Rosso  – Full bodied and dusky. Red Plums, Blood Orange, Hibiscus. Such a happy nose! But it’s dry and meaty with such a long finish. Pair with Tiger's Lamb Roti or Yu Shiang Eggplant.
  • Kulm Blaufränkisch – Full bodied & lively. Mulberries, Gianduja, Forest Floor. This dry, seductive red will have you savoring every last sip. So sexy. Pair with Tiger's Singapore Street Noodles or Swordfish & Rice Guys.

  • Les Pierres d'Aurèle, Nouvelle Lune Gamay - Region: Touraine AOC - Loire Valley, France - Grape: Gamay - A nose full of blackberry preserves, a palate filled with wild cherries, and something in the background that reminds us of a nice meaty char. Is it fall yet?
