CURATED BY EVAN TURNER

WINE DIRECTOR of KRASI

*DELIVERIES BEGIN WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 7TH*

I'm not sure how many eleven year olds would fair if their parents announced that their family would be moving to Greece. But for Evan Turner, the move couldn't have worked out better. He fell in love with Greek food as a child and grew to appreciate the history and culture that surrounded him. But most importantly, he became fascinated with the wine.

In Evan’s words, the ancient Greeks are the ones who said, “hold my beer” and really perfected the process of winemaking. They are ideal for food. The Greek wines we are seeing now are a true reflection of their regions. We are thrilled about these wines and excited about integrating them into our permanent collection, so we hope you find some new favorites this month

  • Alexakis, Assyrtiko–  Evan says drinking this wine is like drinking electricity. It's a refreshing gust of sea air for your palate. Out of this world acidity and a slice of lemon. Pair with Krasi's Grilled Peach & Halloumi salad or Sea Bass Crudo.
  • Domaine Glinavos, Ioannina Paleokerisio – A style of wine that has existed for centuries. It's more drier and more savory than it used to be. This one is full of ripe oranges and wheat crackers. Pair with Krasi's Baked Chicken or Marinated Octopus.
  • Domaine Tatsis, Xinomavro – Light 'n bright but not without texture. Pronouned /ksee-NOH-mav-roh/, this wine is full of stewed cherries and freshly split wood. Pair with anything from Krasi's selection of charcuterie.
  • Lyrarakis, Liatiko Aggelis  – One sip is blissfully disorienting. You're confronted with decadent amounts of acid and tannin. Food required! Pair with Krasi's Lamb Osso Buco or Slow Cooked Veal.

A little fruit, a little smoke, perfect with food or on its own. Pair with Boeuf Bourgignon or your favorite Netflix show.
  • La Segreta, Freghino – Umbria IGT - Umbria, Italy - Rhône Valley, France – Sangiovese, Colorino, Malvasia Nera –Dry, rustic, earthy Sangiovese. A little sun dried tomato wrapped in worn leather. This wine is ripe, subtle, and unforgettable. One of our absolute favorites. Pair with Krasi's Skioufikta, Cretan Pasta with Pork & Pistachio.
