We’re so excited to feature the newly opened concept from the team behind Boston’s beloved Eastern Standard. Bringing a warm, modern take on Italian dining, Standard Italian is a celebration of handmade pastas, stuzzichini (little snacks), and amazing entrées, all crafted with the thoughtful execution that made Eastern Standard a favorite. From lasagna to Chef Brian Rae’s famous porchetta, their menu is built around rich, comforting flavors that pair beautifully with Italian wines.  

To highlight their all-Italian wine list, Wine Director Andrew Thompson, curated a lineup showcasing the depth and diversity of Italian winemaking. From Cortese to Carignano he’s got four wines picked out that we know you’ll love. It’s the perfect spot for a cozy winter dinner so be sure to snag a table for yourself soon.

  • Castello Monaci, Petraluce Verdeca - Medium bodied & clean. Acid and flowers. This is the perfect winter white wine. So easy to sip on. Pair with SI Roasted Clams or Fisherman’s Stew.
  • Enrico Serafino, Gavi di Gavi- Light & uplifting. Fresh, juicy, Cortese. This wine is so sharp. Cozy up to some goat cheese now. Pair with SI Bay Scallop Crudo or Wild Mushrooms
  • La Kiuva, Rouge de Vallé- Medium bodied & savory. The perfect crunchy red. A burst of fruit and a tomatoey finish. We love it. Pair with SI Lasagna or fresh Speck.
  • Sella & Mosca, Terre Rare - Full bodied & bloody. Sultry smooth Carignano. A little black pepper, a little licorice, perfect tannins. Pair with SI Rigatoni Amatriciana or Porchetta.
