If there is any indication that Brianne Day deeply enjoys making wine and has fun doing so, it's in a bottle of Vin de Days Rouge. It is alive, fruity and fun while maintaining a structure perfect for pairing with anything from a meatloaf to a crispy duck confit. This wine is 74% Pinot Noir from Nemarniki and Noel Family Vineyards in Chehalem Mtns American Viticultural Area (AVA), Keeler Estate in Eola Amity Hills AVA, and Johan Vineyard in Van Duzer Corridor AVA. Adding a dark, mineral finish this blend contains 24% Pinot Meunier from Twelve Oaks Vineyard (owned by Anne Amie) in Chehalem Mtns AVA. As is common practice of southern French red blends to have a dash of white wine to add a crisp note, she adds 2% Pinot Gris from Momtazi Vineyard in McMinnville AVA. Brianne applies a winemaking teqnique called Carbonic Maceration that achieves a freshness rich with dark fruit - cherries, strawberries, and blackberries - that might remind you of a juicy Beaujolais. Behind the fruit, there is a layer of savory notes with persistent tannins.
